Dear Park Lane Residents:
It has been brought to our attention that there are false statements being made and presented as facts regarding the development of the lower section of Forest Lake Drive. We believe that these false statements are being circulated by a few individuals outside our development who are opposed to our development.
We are therefore writing you to inform you of the facts:
- The developer, Park Lane Company, L.P., is seeking Wetlands Permits from The Town of Harrison for ten previously approved building lots along the lower
section of Forest Lake Drive (Between 34 Forest Lake Drive and Forest Lake
Dam).
- No changes are being saught to the original subdivision plans and approvals.
All ten lots were previously approved by The Town of Harrison (as per the
original Park Lane subdivision approval).
- Proposed houses on these lots will be similar in style and architecture to
other houses in the Park Lane Development, and similar to houses and
properties already built along the lower section of Forest Lake Drive (close
to The Clubhouse).
- The only reason for the current applications is that some of the proposed
construction activity is within the 100 foot wetland buffer area, as was the
case with the above-mentioned houses already built along the lower section of
Forest Lake Drive.
- New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation has reviewed and approved the proposed activity, as they had done for the properties previously
developed around Forest Lake.
- NO low-income housing or townhouses has ever been proposed.
- NO commercial buildings or activity has ever been proposed.
- NO activity, other than construction of two-story single-family residences,
similar to existing homes in Park Lane, has ever been proposed.
- NO construction activity has ever been proposed in the wetlands or in
Forest Lake.
We hope that this clarifies the facts regarding the completion of the lower section of Forest Lake Drive.
